A DWS-managed infrastructure fund acquired Portuguese energy-community business Cleanwatts, with Verdane exiting its investment.
The transaction
Cleanwatts publicly confirmed its new shareholder and 100% ownership on 23 February. Verdane separately confirmed its exit the next day.
The announced business plan envisages approximately €150m of investment by 2030 in decentralised renewable energy and related capabilities. That planned investment is separate from the undisclosed acquisition price.
